The St. Augustine Alligator Farm is a favorite place of mine - and countless other photographers. The birds are wild but they choose to make nests above the captive alligators. The gators keep the rookery safe from raccoons and bobcats, so it's a great place to have a family of birds.
I visited the Alligator Farm on seven different days in April and May 2007, including a three day workshop with Chas Glatzer in April. Each day was a great experience - watching the courtship and nesting behavior of these birds.
